What does ‘chirally corrected’ mean?
Each of nature’s building blocks is made up of two forms of the same molecule that are the mirror image of each other. Scientists discovered that each of these mirror image molecules have different properties, some harmful and ineffective and some beneficial to the human body. Chirally corrected molecules produce only the positive effect of each ingredient dramatically reducing the possibility of allergic or adverse reaction when you use a product. This purification process is the basis of CosMedix.
Are there any benefits from 'chiral correction'?
Because of the high cost of chiral correction most popular brands of skin care products don’t purify their ingredients. However, the ingredients in the CosMedix range are purified to reach their most natural and potent form so that every one works to its maximum to give you superior results.
COSMEDIX PEELS™
Chemical peels use products such as alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs), fruit acids and L-Retinol (vitamin A) to rejuvenate the skin. The active ingredients remove the outer dead layers of the skin giving a fresher, younger-looking appearance.
Chemical peels can be used to improve problems caused by sundamage and aging such as pigmentation problems, fine lines and wrinkles, as well as other skin conditions such as acne and rosacea.
Chemical peels have other benefits which include more effective penetration of active topical agents, such as vitamins A & C, moisturizers and sunblocks.
The effect of a chemical peel is like mild sunburn, with some redness and peeling for a few days.
Initially a series of three peels spaced 4 weeks apart will rejuvenate the skin. A maintenance program which includes occasional peels and the application of an appropriate skin care program will sustain the desired results.
