PLATELET-RICH PLASMA TREATMENT – SYDNEY
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) uses your body’s own cells to rejuvenate the face and slow down the ageing process*. As well as assisting blood clotting, platelets also release growth factors that assist the human body to repair itself by stimulating cells to regenerate new tissues.
PRP can be easily separated from a small sample of blood through a process of centrifugation. This process helps to remove the red blood cells, leaving just the plasma which contains relatively higher concentrations of growth factors. The plasma stimulates existing stem cells leading to an acceleration in soft tissue healing and regeneration processes. The PRP concentrate is then injected into the soft tissue at the site where the accelerated healing is required.
PRP can be used to rejuvenate the face, including improving fine-to-moderate wrinkles caused by sun-damage. The most common areas treated with PRP include around the eyes, the cheeks, the neck, décolletage and the back of the hands. It can also be used on other areas of the body such as on the skin around the knees, elbows and abdomen. It is a safe treatment because your very own plasma is used.
PRP can be combined with other rejuvenation treatments such as lasers and skin needling. Improvement of skin hydration, tone and texture occur after the treatment, with medical grade skincare and light therapy enhancing the results.
